Utah Trip

Daniel and I have been enjoying our break from school. I am getting sad to think that it is half over and Daniel is going to start studying/tutoring tomorrow. Well we did have a fun time on our trip to Utah. Unfortunately we didn't have our camera with us. Daniel's Gram was kind enough to lend us hers while we were visiting with her so we got some pictures on Temple Square.

We spent the beginning of our trip with my Aunt and Uncle in Park City and then made our way down to Orem and visited with family and friends from our old ward in Provo. Daniel and Bens got to go to a BYU football game while Kimber and I went to the Relief Society Broadcast.

We got a picture of our family of 4 by entrance 4 of the Conference Center. Bens didn't want to have his picture taken... the sun in our eyes doesn't help either!

Here is a nice picture of the temple but we aren't showing up very well.

Daddy/Son picture by the fountain. Bens had fun say 'Cheese' for the camera.

Our little Kimber added into the picture!

I have always seen pictures on the round platform with the temple in the back but never knew where it was so we found it and did some pictures. Kimber was super happy to be out of her car seat... maybe she has spent to much time in it so far in her life!

Family picture in the same spot.

We took Bens by the North visitor's center and took him up to see the Christus statue. I love this picture! We asked him who the statue was on and he finally said 'Jesus'.

Bens loved playing with the 'babies' at my Aunt and Uncles house. He found my cousin's old play area under the stairs and there were tons of dolls and strollers under there. He started carrying one around with him all the time. He took one of Kimber's blankets and would have the doll wrapped up in it and even slept with it.

Well we are beat and want to get to bed. Have a great night!

Playing Pretend

Bens has been really big into pretend play lately. He has been having tea parties using his tools as utensils and cars as cups. There is more to come about his pretending but for now here is a cute picture of him from the other day.

I looked over at Bens and he had put his chair up on the recliner and had a grand ol' time!

I got Bens up from his nap this afternoon and he had this popple beside him by his bed and they were 'eating fries'. I wrapped the popple up like I swaddle Kimber and he brought it down here. The videos I am posting show how he was playing pretend with the popple!

Bens was so cute and careful as he changed his popple!

A few weeks ago we were at a friends birthday party and Bens was having a lot of fun there. He had a teddy bear that he was taking care of. He decided that it was time to feed and he lifted up his shirt and stuck the bears head under his shirt to feed it. Bens burped the bear and then switched sides. He was very modest while doing this. I guess he has seen this around the house or something... I am glad he took on the modest end of it! Jeff videoed it but I don't have a copy of it... this is how it happened at our house!

This is a video of Kimber cooing. She didn't break out into an actual laugh but she was pretty happy that Daniel was talking to her. These are some pretty great kids!

Finals Week

It is finals week here so naturally that means that Daniel isn't taking his finals! This is the third out of four quarters that Daniel will have to make up his exams after he gets back after the break. Unfortunately Daniel came down with the flu over the weekend and the school specifically pulled him out of class last week asking him to stay home for at least 5 days if he got flu symptoms. One of the students he has been tutoring came down with the 'Swine' flu. We have been spending a lot of time at home this week as a family. It is nice to have him here with us but I kinda wish he was taking his exams so he didn't have to do it next quarter! Here are some nice things about our house right now. Our little kiddos! Kimber was pretty out on Sunday night so I decided to take some pictures and video of her. We just love her. She is growing so fast... I think she has doubled her birth weight now and she is 2 1/2 months old.

Kimber loves her swing. She falls asleep there quite a bit but she just looked so cute posed like this!

I sat Kimber on the couch and Bens sat down beside her. I took a couple of pictures but I like this one as he is kissing her. He loves his little sister and loves to kiss her.

Kimber's sleeping video... I could not wake her up!

This is a little bit later when she was awake and loving being naked on the floor!

Well I hope your week is a little bit better than ours has been. Enjoy the videos.

PS

I may have 'forgotten' Bens' blanket at Nana's house. This only shows some of the holes that Bens chewed on his blanket. On the way up to Magrath my Aunt saw him find the holes and put his toes through it... he was pretty proud of himself. I actually kinda miss the blanket as it was so soft and I wanted one for myself. It is ok though because it had a nasty smell to it! Anyways, have a good day!

A little behind!

Warning... there are a lot of pictures here!

So this is from around a month ago... I'm not exactly sure if it was before our trip to the Okanagan or not. Sometimes when we say 'Cool Dude' Bens will copy us and give thumbs up. Too cute!

I keep telling people that Kimber reminds me a lot of Brooke. Here is a picture that I just see a lot of Brooke in her. It is usually when Kimber is asleep when I see the resemblance.

So I believe those pictures are from before our trip to the lake. We had a great time there. We got to see everyone in Daniel's family except for his brother Jared. Unfortunately our trips just didn't overlap. We did get to see a lot of extended family while we were up there. We left the day before the family reunion started so we got to see some of the family that was already there for it. It is so great being able to see family! Hopefully we will be getting some pictures that I can post soon. I took the camera up with us but never got it out to take pictures!

So the last post was the day that my Grandma died. I left the next day with my Aunt to go up and help get ready for the funeral. The day after we got up there my Grandpa said he wanted to go to the Cardston parade. (Every town in Southern Alberta has a parade for their town celebration). Grandpa said that Grandma was having a great reunion with family so we could go have some fun. Bens really enjoyed it! He is starting to understand the concept of running out to get candy.

There is an RCMP officer that lives in the apartment below my Grandpa and he agreed to pose for some pictures in his uniform. No they don't wear these all the time... only for show or parades I guess.

Here is my Aunt Rhonda with the officer.

Bens wasn't too sure which is why my Dad had held him in the other picture.

My mom loved how Kimber was crossing her feet while I fed her so she captured it!

Here is a beautiful picture of me. Not really, I was really tired from driving the day before!

Kimber standing on my tummy. She grew so much while we were up there! She actually rolled over while we were there. My Mom and Dad saw it as well. She rolled from her tummy onto her back. She then tried to roll over again but didn't make it. She hasn't tried since then, Thank Goodness!

Last weekend our friends put together a photo scavenger hunt. The rules were that you could only have a compilation pictures of it included three things. Here is Bens 1) shirtless 2) on the toilet and 3) hiding!

So most of you know that we have a dinner group every Sunday. This week was way past our turn so we finally had everybody over. Bens saw us using some tape and decided he wanted to have it on his eyes. I put it on his forehead and then he moved it over his eyes. He then wanted some more on his nose. This was the finished product. He is so funny!

Bens also got really attached to Brandon and kept going over to have him read books to him. Then I guess he got tired and just laid down like this.

I guess he was happy while he was there!

Last night our ward had at county fair themed party complete with fried chicken, elephant ears and a greased pig chase for the kids. Bens didn't join in the chase but this is what he looked like when we got home. I don't know exactly how he got dirt on his face like this but he had fun. Actually the dirt could be from Chandler tackling him... one of the funniest things I was all night. They were out on the softball field and all of a sudden Chandler went up and took him down!

So somethings that have happened recently that have had pictures taken of....
Bens's wall of color. He had a package of crayons in his room just after we moved here and two crayons disappeared. We have completely rearranged his room since then but could not find them. A couple of months ago the orange one appeared and was taken care of. Last week the green appeared with a vengance! Bens colored his wall during nap time. 2 words... Magic Erasers! Bens helped me clean it up.

Another adventure was during Bens' nap this week. He was bored and didn't have his sleeping bag on so he finger painted his window, window sill, carpet, shirt, stuffed animals, blanket... the list goes on... with poop. He is now being potty trained. That is all I am going to say about that.

Here is to another week. Hopefully less things happen! Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Sad Day.

Well... today is sad. I found out this morning that my Grandma died. I knew it was coming but that still doesn't prepare you for it. This is the first death in the family that I have really dealt with. I did hope that Grandma wouldn't have to deal with everything she has been dealing with over a long period of time but it was still a shock to hear it this morning. Daniel and I are trying to figure out how we are going to get me back up to Canada for the funeral. Yes this will be my third time back in Canada since the beginning of June! (side note... last weeks trip to the Okanagan was great... more to come later)

Two weeks ago there was a celebration in Magrath for my Grandma as she turned 80 in May. I wasn't able to go to it but it sounded like it was a nice program. I am grateful that I was able to see Grandma so much over the time that I was in Canada and that she was able to meet my little Kimber Anne.

So this is a little late but here it is.

Last Wednesday was Daniel's and my third anniversary. We celebrated by getting Chinese take out and then went to see the new Harry Potter movie. We really enjoyed it. Thanks to some friends that babysat our little kiddos! Bens was super good for them and Kimber cried almost the whole time. It may be a while before we go to a movie again! This is the first cake that I have made for our anniversary. I had a bit of extra icing so I just added what I could to it!

The other day Daniel called me over to see how our little girl was posing. She is a real cutie!

She started to move but still so cute. Kimber has started to remind me a lot of Brooke when she was younger. Specifically when she is sleeping Kimbers mouth sits like Brooke's did.

Kimber a great little girl. She has been doing really well staying up in the evenings lately which makes for better nights. I worried that I wouldn't get a baby this time that slept as well as Bens but she has proved me wrong! I'm ok with that!

Bens has enjoyed playing in his sand box. He was telling me that the wheel barrow was a truck!

It really is nice to have something for him to play with on our cement pad of a backyard until he starts throwing the sand in the house!

Last night Bens got the much needed haircut he has needed since before Kimber was born. With the heat his hair has just been sticking to his head... hopefully he will feel a little cooler!

I don't have any pictures of this but Bens got bit on the cheek the other night by one of his friends. His cheek bruised pretty good but it is doing well now. It kinda goes with the rest of the bumps, bruises and cuts on his face these days. He likes to stand on his toys which means that he falls off of them a lot! Well what can I say... he is a little boy!

Have a great day!
