Houston, We've had a problem!

We went to the Johnson Space Center when we were in Houston last week before heading off on our cruise.  It was so awesome!

Here is the Independence Shuttle replica that will be open at the end of January.  We were just a few weeks too early to see in it!

We went on a couple of tours including the Vehicle Mock-Up Facility where we saw different mock-ups of parts for the International Space Station.

This is the Canada Arm 2 for the Space Station.

This is a robot for space.  They have a robot with no legs that is so precise that it can turn a page of a book without ripping it.  These are the legs they are developing for that robot.

We stopped at Rocket Park.  There are a bunch of rockets and rocket engines to look at outside but the real deal is inside the building!

Sitting in an engine, no biggie!

This is the Saturn V rocket.  The building was made to house the rocket, leaving inches at the end of the nose.

Daniel's told the kids he went on a rocket to space to take a picture.  They were pretty excited until they found out it was a picture of a picture.

It was too tricky to get it all in one picture but this gives you a small idea of how big it was.

Sometimes I don't want to be in a picture so I make pretty faces.

Our second tram tour was to Mission Control.  It was neat hearing about it.

Orion Spacecraft.

Space toilet.  Benson thought this was pretty cool when he saw this picture.

Daniel's long time dream of piloting a spacecraft.

It was a pretty busy day but it was amazing to see all of it.  We had a great time checking it all out.

Christmas Concerts

Tis the season for Christmas concerts.

Last week Benson and Kimber had their concert and they did an amazing job!  Unfortunately I can't get the videos to upload so you can see them on Facebook.  Here is Kimber and Benson's songs.

They did the Grumps in Ring-a-Ding Town.  They did a really great job.

Yesterday was McKay's concert and Taylor and I were able to go see him.

There was some food for us to eat and T was excited to have an orange.

He was all ready to sing!  They sang It's a Small World and I am not sure what this song is.

They had photo ops with props.

Decorating gingerbread men.

One McKay's crafts on display around the gym.

We Went Camping... sort of.

This summer we went out to the Okanagan and stayed at the Daniel's family cabin while my family camped just down the road.  We went over and visited my family but enjoyed getting our kids to bed and not having move our tent around during out stay out there.

Here are a few of my favourite shots off of my camera.

McKay was anxious to start roasting some marshmallows.

The view from the upper cabin.
A week is never long enough out there!

2/3 of the grandkids with Auntie Shar laughing maniacally in the background.

I had Brooke take some pictures of my family during the
talent show and these were the pre-show selfies she took.

Our family did a lip sync to Let It Go.
Shortly after the heavens opened with a huge down pour!
We all ran a took cover until the rain passed.

Some of the granddaughters just before the rain came.

Sylas peeking out of his tent after the rain subsided!

I love this sweetie!  She is so cute!

Taylor coming to the talent show with Auntie Brooke.

A magic show to get us back into the talent show.

Milo sang Skidamarink for us.

Neko and Shar sang Happy for us.

We had some gymnastics.

Graham and Jacqui sang for us.

Eliza jumped on one foot for us.
A few others had to show us they could do that too!

Papa read The Cremation of Sam McGee to us.
A kid or two of ours was a little scared after that one!

It was great getting to spend time with our family.  We had a great time 'camping', well Chelsea's style of camping!  The kids really enjoy getting together with all of their cousins.  We spent a lot of time out on the lake which was great.  As the kids are getting older it is fun to watch them play with each other and see them gain independence.
