Royal Tyrrell Museum

We took a road trip down to Drumheller this summer and met Brooke's family there for a day with the dinosaurs!

We got there a bit early so we took some pictures and a walk to the outlook spot.

Auntie Brooke tried to cheer up Miss T.  She only became Miss T's friend when offering to take her out to a park.  That is how to make her an Insta-Friend!

The kids enjoyed eating lunch outside and then doing the dinosaur dig by the park.  It was a schorching 37 degrees (98.6 for our American friends) so the shade was more than welcome!  That is at the high end of our normal temps here!

We stopped at Drumheller's Little Church after the museum.  The sign read 'Serving 10 000 people 6 at a time'.

After getting gas we stopped at a splash park to dip our feet in for a few minutes and saw this big dinosaur.  Yes the town is over run with dinosaurs.

First Day of School

Over the past year or so I have felt extremely overwhelmed with life.  The blog has suffered and there is no way to recap the last year and a bit so we are going to jump in and start with the new school year.

Miss Kimber is in Grade 1!  She loves art and math.  It should make for a fun year in Grade 1.  Her teacher is Ms Parker.

Mr Benson is going to Grade 3!  How did that happen?!  He loves his new hair and video games.  He is not impressed that he has to go to school during the week and only get video games on the weekend though!  His teacher is Mr Baker.

After dropping off Kimber (she is in a separate building) we saw the Kutanzi's and they told us that Benson and Landon are in the same class.  That got us our first genuine smile of the day!

McKay is going to start Kindergarten on Thursday so stay tuned for his first day pictures!

Preschool 2014

Today was McKay's first (highly anticipated) day of preschool.  He was so excited to go and did not have a problem leaving me!  I really am not surprised by that at all!

After exploring a bit we all sat at the rug and read a story.  Then we did a craft together.  Then all the parents were asked to leave for cake, coffee and conversation.  He asked me once to stay with him but quickly forgot and was ready for me to leave!  It was nice to chat with some of the other parents and get to know them.  It seems like a really great program.  This kid was beyond ready to be in school.  So happy he is enjoying school!

Kindergarten 2014

Kimber started kindergarten on Wednesday.  She had a staggered start with part of her class on Wednesday and then they were all together on Friday.  Today they finalized their classes and she is starting to attend every afternoon.

Kimber became quite nervous when it was time to line up for class.  Friday was even more nerve racking with all the kids being there.  Today she did so well.  She was nervous but she lined up quickly and waited patiently to go into class.

Grade 2!

First day of School!  I can't believe that it is already here.  I am slightly in denial that summer is really over!

Benson is excited and nervous to be back in school.  He is in a new school this year but he has a friend from church in his class so we are excited for that.
